Magician displays lunch bags labeled from 1 to 9 in a three-by-three grid. A hungry spectator is brought on stage. Magician explains that he stopped at a local diner and had the waitress fill the lunch boxes with the specials of the day. He can’t remember what she said was the best meal in the bunch, so he calls the waitress to ask her. She gets on the speakerphone and through a series of steps, magically leads the spectator to the bag with a great meal deal, while the other boxes are shown to contain garbage.

To perform this effect, you will need some lunch bags and some cheap props available at any party store. The “phone call” can be made on your iPhone or Skype if you have an iPad or iPod Touch.

Trick #2: Food for Thought
Magician talks about a waitress that he knows who has a word to say about everything. She also seems to know what you are going to order before you say it. An experiment is set up. Looking around the table, the spectator selects something that is edible. It could be the ketchup, salt, sugar, hot sauce, bread, etc. Once an item is selected, the magician has the spectator call his waitress friend on his iPhone. During the phone call, Eunice, the waitress, seems to know exactly the item that was selected!
